Guidelines

In the prevailing second wave of the Covid19 pandemic across the State, it has been felt necessary to further facilitate issuance of Death Certificates and Cremation Certificates to the family of the deceased post cremation/ burial. In this connection the following directions are hereby issued.

  • In the event of death of a resident of a ULB and cremation / burial is completed at the crematorium / burial ground of the same ULB, the Death Certificate is to be issued at the crematorium/ burial ground immediately after the cremation/ burial is completed.
  • In the event of the cremation/ burial of a deceased takes place at a crematorium / burial ground of another ULB, in such cases the Cremation Certificate will be issued at the crematorium/ burial ground and subsequently the ULB where the deceased was a resident of, will issue a Death Certificate within 72 hours.
